She was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and is a graduate of Guilford College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources. Tonia has been with the firm since 2001. During her free time she likes to travel, read and spend time with her family.

Priscilla Almeida-Rankin

Priscilla Almeida-Rankin is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. Priscilla relocated to the United States in 2004. In 2007, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and in 2010 she obtained a Master’s in Spanish Literature from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Priscilla joined McKinney Immigration in 2007. She works with our employment based immigration and removal defense clients.

Deidre Alvarez

Deidre Alvarez is an interpreter in our Greensboro office. She was born in Massachusetts but raised in North Carolina and is fluent in Spanish. She is of Salvadoran nationality and graduated from the University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in Sociology. During her free time Deidre likes to cook, hang out with friends, play with her cat Charlie, and watch documentaries.

Evelyn Coreas

Evelyn Coreas is a paralegal in our Greensboro office. She was born in New York but raised in North Carolina and is fluent in Spanish. She attended Rutherford Early College High School and received her Associate’s degree, and then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. During her free time, Evelyn enjoys reading, going to festivals and spending time with family and friends.

Stephanie Dimas

Stephanie Dimas is an immigration paralegal in our Greensboro office. She was born and raised in North Carolina and is fluent in Spanish. After working in computer repair for five years, Stephanie decided she wanted to use her love for Spanish for something more. She spent a year exploring the field of worker’s compensation, social security disability and personal injury before joining our immigration team in April of 2012. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and participating in Hispanic events around the community with her family.

Yani Fernandez

Yani Fernandez is an immigration paralegal in our Greensboro office; she was born and raised in Cuba. Her family relocated to Miami, FL when she was 10 old and later moved to Winston Salem, NC. Yani is fluent in Spanish and English. She graduated from University of North Carolina Greensboro with a double major in Spanish and Communication Studies along with a minor in Sociology. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her dog, Joey.

Norma Perez

Norma Perez is an immigration paralegal in our Wilmington office. She was born and raised in Homestead, Florida. At the age of 17 years old, she relocated to Wilmington, NC. Norma is fluent in Spanish and participates in many community and pro-bono events. She is a graduate of Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, North Carolina, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Technology. Norma has been working as a paralegal since 2005, and has been working for McKinney Immigration since January 2011.

Rosa Sanchez

Rosa Sanchez is a paralegal in our Wilmington office. She joined McKinney Immigration in May 2016. Rosa is a native of Mexico and has lived in Wilmington for over 16 years. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and went back that same year to obtain a second degree. She received her Bachelor’s in Environmental Science in 2016. During her free time, she likes to go to the gym and stay active and be a positive role model to her 7 year old brother.

Courtney Schell

Courtney Schell is an immigration paralegal in our Greensboro office. She was born in West Virginia but was raised in Richmond, Virginia. She moved to North Carolina in 2005. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a pre-law concentration and hopes to return to school in the future to obtain her Juris Doctorate degree. In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dogs, spending time with family and reading.

Hope Smallwood

Hope Smallwood is an immigration paralegal in our Hendersonville office. She was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois. While attending college at Colorado State University, she spent a semester studying abroad in Hyderabad, India. In 2010 she graduated from CSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. After college, Hope lived in Madrid, Spain for nearly three years, where she studied Spanish and taught English. She moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 2016. Hope loves traveling the world and learning about different cultures. In her free time, she loves to enjoy nature and spend time with her dog, Taco.

Nadia Valdez

During her free time she likes to go shopping and spend time with her family.
